| Valid Nutrition manufactures a range of highly fortified nutritional pastes for the prevention and treatment of malnutrition. These products are made in the countries in which they are needed, thereby stimulating the local economy as well as providing life-saving products at affordable prices. |
| Our Vision | |
| Following the proven breakthrough of Community-based Therapeutic Care and Ready-to-Use Food, for the first time ever, we have the capability to combat malnutrition at real scale and help the children of the poorest nations realise their full potential. "Valid Nutrition’s vision is to dramatically extend access to innovative life saving and life enhancing nutritious foods - by improving their availability and affordability while also enhancing their efficacy. We will do this while also optimising our broader economic impact in the countries in which we operate, by producing locally and sourcing as many raw materials as possible in indigenous markets." Furthermore, we will harness our position as a commercially driven social enterprise to establish a vibrant, innovative self-financing business with a global footprint and a reputation as the recognised experts in foods to combat malnutrition. |
|
| Our Mission | |
| Valid Nutrition exist to design and manufacture highly specialised and effective foods for the treatment and prevention of malnutrition - and to provide these life saving products as efficiently as possible to those who need them. We achieve this by: "Valid Nutrition exist to design and manufacture highly specialised and effective foods for the treatment and prevention of malnutrition." • Scaling up production (exclusively) in developing countries and regions while sourcing raw materials where possible locally, so as to improve competitiveness, encourage enterprise and create sustainable multiplier benefits to local African economies. • Continuous R&D on formulations, product range and usage - to improve effectiveness and reduce cost. • Building on existing (and creating) new partnerships with Governments, NGOs and Aid agencies - to significantly extend reach, efficiency and ultimate impact of their operations. • Leveraging our competence and distinctive business model to enable constructive and ethical engagement by the private sector, providing a benchmark for price and quality that others must follow. |
|
| Our values | |
| Valid Nutrition is a social enterprise with a humanitarian ethos and a registered Irish Charity. However, we operate unashamedly as a business - within strict commercial parameters and with highest standards of governance. We have no shareholders and therefore all profit from revenues generated is reinvested into the objectives of the charity. We are determined to become self-financing within a short timeframe. Our structure means that we will retain our independent status without compromise. Valid Nutrition is committed to establishing mechanisms for new and enlightened engagement with the private sector. Given the scale of malnutrition as a problem, we believe that broader and much more effective private sector involvement is critical and presents a commercial opportunity. We believe that our distinctive model and approach is the most effective and only realistic way to pursue our vision sustainably. "Valid Nutrition exists purely to pursue our vision and abide by our mission, not to grow for the sake of perpetuating our existence." |
